What are we doing?
We’re exploring the possibility of starting a special type of animal rescue working with Alpacas. We are a small group of individuals who will decide if such a goal is attainable and sustainable. The following is an initial attempt to start the process of organization. It is not a complete or even accurate list at this time.

We’ve decided to start the process with an Advisory Board (AB). The AB’s commitment is 6 weeks from April 1st – May 15th. After May 15th AB members may choose to stay on the AB, apply to become part of the Board of Directors (BD), or decide to not be involved with the project at an AB level.

Our Name
The name Priti – means a joy or rapture at looking within and finding peace. Please think about the name – will it work? Is there a better name? What do you think about it?

Trout Lake Abbey (46 Stoller Rd., Trout Lake WA 98650)
TLA is a spiritual retreat center, B&B, and organic farm. We host two non profit religious groups as well as allowing groups to rent out space in our B&B for meetings etc.

As we got to know a little more about the Alpaca industry, we learned of the excess of males - some of which were being euthanized or under cared for, some were ending up as animal food, and some were ending up in unhealthy or even abusive situations.

We think that this form of Alpaca rescue will be good for people, animals, and the earth.

The Abbey is willing to lease about 8 acres of our farm to Alpaca Priti for $1.00 a year.

Our goals:

  1. Practice in a way that benefits the earth and all living beings
  2. Provide a home for unwanted Alpacas that allows the animals to live a full, worthwhile, and productive life
  3. Use our resources in an efficient manner to optimize conservation
